IN THE HEIGHTS - May/June 2026

Music and Lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda

Book by  Quiara Alegría Hudes

Conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda

In the Heights is a vibrant, lively, passionate and high energy musical. Set over the course of three scorching summer days in July, it tells the story of a tight knit, predominantly Latino community in Washington Heights, New York City.

This story mainly centers around Usanvi, a bodega owner who dreams of returning to his birthplace in the Dominican Republic. Surrounding him is a community full of family, friends and neighbours who all must navigate their own unique struggles amid the overwhelming threat of change and gentrification.

This story highlights the all too relatable themes of community, family, heritage, identity and belonging on a backdrop bright colours, big personalities and of course, Lin Manuel Miranda’s unique musical style of combining hip-hop, pop, salsa and reggaeton.

Do  you require an ASL interpreted performance, or a relaxed performance where high sensory moments regarding lights and sound are muted, and house lights are kept on low for a less stimulating/triggering environment?
